About me

Explore the story behind Claudine Vanvooren’s raw and moody art. Figurative works that merge rough textures with emotional depth.

Claudine born in Assenede 1963 is a visual Belgian contemporary artist working at the intersection of painting and sculpture.  Her work is defined by raw textures, dark tones, and a charged silence. Using materials such as black-pigmented cement, shattered safety glass, and coarse pastes, she explores the tension between strength and fragility.

In the paintings, figures emerge with scars, cracks, and shadows – and inner struggle. In the sculptures, the hardness of cement collides with the fragile shimmer of glass. This duality forms the essence of the work: broken, yet still enduring.
